What this site collects, where it goes, and how to get it removed. Written to describe what the code actually does.

If you just read the site

We do not ask you for anything. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read; it sets a cookie and Google receives your IP address. Pages showing the map load it from Google, which also receives your IP address. We do not sell anything about you, and there is no advertising network on this site.

Shops you save

Saved shops are stored in your own browser, using IndexedDB. They never leave your device and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data deletes them.

If you submit a shop listing

We collect the shop name, street address, town, ZIP, region, phone, website, opening hours and description, plus your email address and your Shopify order number. The shop details are published — that is the point of the listing. Your email address is not published; we use it to confirm the order, to contact you about the listing, and to tell you before it expires.

If you submit a letter, an event or an advertisement

We collect what you type and your email address. What you submit is published only after we approve it. Your email address is not published.

Payment

Payments are handled by Shopify. We never see your card details. We receive only your order number, the amount and your email address.

Where it is stored

Submissions are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the us-west1 region, in the United States. Site files are served from Google Cloud Run.

How long we keep it

A published listing stays until its twelve months end. After that the listing stops appearing and the record is kept only as proof that the order was fulfilled. Letters and events we decline are deleted.

Getting your data removed

Email customersupport@ddsboston.com from the address you submitted with and we will remove your listing and your details. If the listing is still within its paid term we will refund the unused part.
